With no custom CA, the TLS argument list was empty. macOS Bash 3.2, under nounset, treats an empty array expansion as an unset variable. The script aborted before curl ran, then reported that Proxmox had returned no HTTP status. The request now always starts with curl, and an empty TLS list is omitted. The human’s shell is old.
